Alison’s career started in community education, supporting vulnerable children and young people. In 2001, she joined ChildLine as counselling manager in Scotland, then Assistant Director for ChildLine/NSPCC for North England. Alison joined CHILDREN 1ST in 2009. Before being appointed as Chief Executive in 2014, she was Director of Children & Families, as well as leading the public policy and communications functions. She has a BSc Honours in Social Sciences and a postgraduate qualification in child protection.
Richard has a BSc and PhD in Astrophysics, and an MSc in Energy Systems and Environment Management from Glasgow Caledonian University. Before joining Friends of the Earth Scotland, he led WWF Scotland for 7 years, working on energy, climate, transport and consumption issues. Prior to this he worked for Community Service Volunteers and Strathclyde Regional Council, and was previously Head of Research at Friends of the Earth Scotland.
Charles is Public Affairs Manager for Scotland at The Woodland Trust. He spends his time reminding Councils, Ministers, and elected representatives at all levels, of the value that creating and protecting native woodland can bring to our environment and society, and pushing for a better appreciation of forestry amongst everyone. Charles has a MA (Hons) in History from University of Glasgow.
Jonathan worked in international telecoms and capital markets, both for large global corporations and small start-ups, in senior management and board level roles. Most recently he has been active in built heritage, setting up and running property development, rental, consultancy and contracting businesses. He has a BA (Hons) in Geography and an MBA, both from Durham University, has a Diploma from the Chartered Institute of Marketing and has an MSt in Building History from Cambridge University.
